A Delicious Way to Make Friends in the League

By Karen Ferguson, Membership Committee co-chair

Are you a new member of the Wake County League of Women Voters? Or maybe not so new, but you don’t yet feel connected to other members?

You might like to attend a small potluck dinner with other new Leaguers. We hold these occasionally in the home of a League member. With 6-8 new members around the host’s table, it’s a relaxed way to get acquainted. There’s always stimulating conversation and great food. One recent attendee said, “What an interesting, friendly gathering, and we learned a lot too.”

If you’ve never been to a new member potluck, why not register for one of these? The following dates are listed on the League Events webpage and more will be added:

·       Tuesday, October 22, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Cary 27518

·       Thursday, November 7, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Apex 27502

·       Thursday, January 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Raleigh 27614

·       Sunday, February 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Raleigh 27612

·       Friday, March 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Raleigh 27614

To register, email Karen Ferguson ferguson.karen@gmail.com, indicating which date you’d like to attend. When confirming your place at the table, we’ll send you the host’s name and address and details about what you may contribute to the meal.

Would you like to host a potluck in your home? You don’t have to be a veteran Leaguer to host, just willing to prepare an entrée and set your dinner table for the number who will fit around it. The potluck committee takes care of the rest. If that appeals to you, let Karen Ferguson know you’re interested in being a host.
