League members and their guests are invited to enjoy a special 45-minute tour of Cary Heritage Museum to experience Cary's metamorphosis from a railroad village to a high-tech community. Learn about the history of the Page-Walker Hotel, now celebrating its 150th anniversary. See the artwork on display in two galleries. After the tour you may choose to briefly explore the Anne Kratzer Educational Garden and Page Smokehouse on your own or spend more time on the exhibits.
Lunch is optional, but it will be special too as we will leave what was Cary’s oldest hotel and head to what is now it’s newest downtown luxury boutique hotel. You can opt to walk or drive the 4 blocks to the Mayton Inn (301 S. Academy Street), where we will eat at their Verandah restaurant (https://verandahcary.com/lunch/ ). For those who want to see more of the Inn’s unique rooms, the Mayton Inn will provide a brief tour after lunch.
Meet at The Page-Walker Arts and History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, on the Cary Town Campus, off of N. Academy St. Kindly arrive a few minutes early so we can start our 11:00am tour on time.
