The League’s next field trip is to the Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, June 17th. Members will meet at the Daily Planet Café in the museum at 11:30am for lunch. They will then explore the current featured exhibit Race: Are We So Different? The exhibit explores race from biological, cultural, and historical points of view to offer an examination of race and racism in the U.S. At 2:00pm the group will participate in the Cultural Conversations program, a facilitated discussion for sharing thoughts, opinions, and ideas about race.
Both the exhibit and the Cultural Conversations programs are free but each require a separate ticket. To get a free ticket to the exhibit, go to http://naturalsciences.org/exhibits/featured-exhibitions/race and order a ticket for 12:30pm on June 17th. If you want to participate in the Cultural Conversations program, scroll down on that same page to Cultural Conversations and register for a ticket at 2:00pm on June 17th.
