Dear ~~first_name~~,
Greetings from LWV-Wake.
Today is election day in Wake County for the Cary Town Council runoff and the second primary election (Democratic nomination) for sheriff. Out of 625,000 Wake County voters eligible to vote in this election, only 10,241 have voted early as of Monday afternoon. For an interesting article about implications of run-off and multiple elections with low voter turnout, click here.
While voter turnout in run-off elections is usually low, esp. given the confusion that exists around these elections, LWV-Wake's mission of Empowering Voters is crucial in helping voters navigate election and voting information in Wake County.
Our VOTE411 platform is used extensively by voters as a trusted source for voting information. As we work to gain new visitors to this website each year, we recognize the need to step up promotional efforts.
To assist us in these efforts, please support LWV-Wake during our upcoming Women's Equality Day. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we rely on these funds to assist us with VOTE411 promotion, GOTV projects, as well as new and exciting youth and civic education programs, which you will hear more about in the upcoming months.

To date, we have already have received RSVP's from more than 34 elected officials! Attending Women's Equality Day is a great opportunity to meet elected officials and learn more about important issues that affect our communities.
In addition, Janet Cowell, former NC state treasurer, state senator and current CEO of Dix Park Conservancy, will serve as our keynote speaker. Ms. Cowell will discuss her career as it relates to issues of equality, and provide an overview of upcoming projects at Dix Park.

One relates to tasks and duties of precinct officials and the the second clarifies the appointment process and rules for precinct-specific observers, one-stop observers, and at-large observers.
