Description:
*Please note some changes due to heavy rain forecast on Sunday.*
Partnering with NAACP Raleigh-Apex Branch, NC Black Alliance, and other organizations, we will support this year's Souls to the Polls event. There will be registration, a program, and attendees will be encouraged to proceed to the polls for early voting.
Due to the forecasted rain and thunderstorms on Sunday, the venue is moving indoors. The Souls to the Polls event will now be held at Martin Street Baptist Church, located at 1001 E. Martin Street, Raleigh. The church is about one mile from the MLK Memorial Garden. There is ample parking at the church.
Due to the weather forecast, we will not march to the John Chavis Community Center as a group to vote. We will encourage attendees to go vote after the program.
The public program start time is still 2:00PM. Volunteers, please plan to arrive by 1:00PM to setup the Community and Faith Leaders Registration Table that we will staff.
More than 25 candidates have RSVP'd for the event and many organizations are expected to bring their members to participate.
