Letter to the Editor: Prepare to Vote

[Published in the News & Observer, April 20, 2018]

The upcoming primary election on May 8 is proving to be very confusing, even for longtime Wake County voters. The League of Women Voters of Wake County has been fielding many questions from confused voters recently.

“It’s almost time to vote in NC. Here’s what you need to know before Election Day” (Apr. 11) tries to provide clarification. I would like to share two additional resources that make voting easier this year. The League of Women Voters sponsors Vote411.org, a nonpartisan site, where you can get a personalized ballot that contains candidate profiles and unedited responses to candidate survey questions. The League of Women Voters of Wake County also provides a simple to follow explanation of what is a primary election and a step-by-step guide to getting your official sample ballot. Go to lwvwake.org/2018-elections for all of this and more.
